Features and essential information about barbeques

Chrome plated - very flash but will require lots of cleaning to keep them looking good.

Stainless steel - Easy to clean and maintain, and more hardwearing than chrome-plated grills.

Cast iron - holds heat well. You will need to wipe the grill with cooking oil before and after use, to help prevent rust.

Porcelain-coated - Easy to clean, rust free. Expensive. Will have flavouriser bars.

Griddle - flat area that heats up - ideal for fiddly items or items that stand no chance of staying on bars (eggs).

Tools - prongs, tongs and spatulas. You can even get branding irons to personalise steaks!

Aprons - have a good quality apron to protect the cook from splatters of hot fat.
