How to enjoy steak!

Serve a delicious steak straight from your barbeque and itll taste just great. Thinly slice steak and serve it on a juicy sandwich packed with fresh tomatoes, lettuce with a wipe of mustard across the freshly cut surface of the bread! Allow meat juices to drop on to the salad and it developes a beautifully moist flavour that makes it really special. Throw on some optional onion sliced very thin and you have a really mouth wateringly good sandwich.
Cooking the steak just right takes a little practice but start pressing the meat with your hand you'll get an idea of how springy it is still and it's this that lets the chef know when the meat is done. Cutting into a steak allows the juices to pour out and you want this only when you've got it to the right degree of cooked! If you stab or cut a steak and put it back on the barbeque then it'll dry out and be less juicy so it's a good skill to learn to cook steaks by feel. Obviously if you use very thin steak it'll cook really quickly through, and if you use very thick steak then it'll take longer.
Some people think it's better to have a slightly underdone steak than ruin in. If you don't mind it then that's fine but some people are squeamish - so respect people's wishes if they want a burnt steak - then give them one!
Enjoy a nice glass of red with your steak too! We've added a couple of suggestions for you to show you the sorts of wine you can enjoy with your dinner!

Quality wine - Gaucho Quality wine - Gaucho £29.99
Bodegas y Vinedos O. Fournier Mendoza Argentina Spaniard José Manuel Fournier was attracted to Argentina by Mendoza’s proliferation of older vines including a high proportion of Tempranillo. The winery is situated in the now highly-fashionable Uco Valley in the south of Mendoza rising to 1400m above sea level beneath the snow-capped Andes. Winemaker José Spisso has played a masterstroke in combining the old-vine Tempranillo with high-altitude Malbec – a grape which the Uco Valley does as well as anywhere in the world – to produce some of South America’s greatest reds. The range stands out as ‘interesting’ wines with real character in stark contrast to a lot of the fruity mass-produced stuff on offer from much of the rest of Latin America.2008 Sauvignon BlancThanks to the high altitude at which these grapes are grown over 1000m this Sauvignon has steely lime and grapefruit flavours and a fresh zingy palate. Pure and refreshing.2008 MalbecA lovely example of Argentina’s trademark grape. Good concentration and structure intense plum and blackberry fruit tied up nicely with fresh acidity. Crying out for an Argentinian steak!
